Two Photo Thursday is a comparison of two images taken under the same conditions with very different looks. It's an opportunity to see how camera settings and/or processing impacts the final result. The photos below of the beautiful baby and her gorgeous mama were taken at Staring Park in Eden Prairie on a cloudy day and definitely encourage different moods.

This weeks Project Inspired project is "Round." Now, instead of going and taking some photos of a ball or a I went to the archives and pulled some of my favorite photos that said "round" to me. Can you identify what's round in each photo?

For more "round" go take a look at Kate Luber Photography, Oklahoma City Photographer and continue on the circle.

When I had my own senior portraits done, well, let’s just say it was long enough ago that Fred Durst was actually relevant, my photographer did something I thought was really unique; he brought me outside for a bit. Most sessions then were done in nice little air conditioned rooms with perfectly positioned studio lights, so this was a pretty novel idea.

Today, it’s quite different, and on location photography seems to be the norm rather than the exception. Working in the studio in great, and it can produce some fabulous images, but there is something special that comes from using surroundings to help tell a story. By moving outside the studio, clients are able to truly be themselves and I am able to capture genuine interaction.

Here are some of HHP’s favorite on location session sites:

1.       Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis

2.       Minnehaha Falls

3.       The Guthrie Theatre

4.       Union Station in St. Paul

5.       And some lesser known gems

This weeks Project Inspired project is "Happy." To me, happiness and love are one of the same. It's the reason why a bad day can be fixed by a great hug, or why personal joy is found in the successes of those we care about. It's part of the human condition to derive happiness from the security that comes from others. To be happier the answer is clear, love more and love harder.

When someone else's happiness is your happiness, that is love.
~Lana Del Rey

Here is some of the "happy" that has been in front of my lens lately:

As a photographer I am privy to my clients' insecurities. I hear people all the time picking at their flaws, "I hate my arms", "make sure you fix my nose in Photoshop", etc. What makes me sad is that my clients truly are beautiful. Each and every single one of them. I wish my clients they could see what I do when I look through my lens. I don't see five extra pounds or a crooked nose. I see gorgeous eyes, a megawatt smile, and skin that just beams. Really I see them.

So this Tip Tuesday is simple, you are more beautiful than you know. Embrace it, love yourself for it, and look at photos of yourself with pride.

This video from Dove says it much better than I ever could:
